World's Largest Ball of Twine

Located on Wisconsin St, Cawker City, Kansas, is the world's largest ball of twine. Cawker City is located in  north central Kansas.
Cawker City is located along the north shore of the Waconda Lake. This city has a population of 469 people (as of a 2010 census). The ball was started by  Frank Stoeber in 1953, and after just 4 years, it weighted over 5,000 pounds and was a towering 8 feet tall. Stoeber gave the ball of twine to the city in 1961. Every year, the city holds an event called Twine-a-Thon, where residents and visitors go to celebrate the twine by adding more twine to the ball. The event also includes barbecue cook=offs, games, and other contests. Due to the twine being added on each year. the twine weighs over 20,000 pounds. If you aren't able to visit Twine-a-Thon, there are also other ways to get your chance to add twine. You can make arrangements to have an appointment for adding your own twine. Don't miss your chance to see an amazing thing that is sure to amaze you.
